Hey all. I'm Scott and my buddy JR and I are going to co-own a squad. He's in Hawaii right now so we'll be deciding on our team name as soon as he returns. I'll let JR tell you a little about himself upon his return. Both of us went to Syracuse back in the late 80's-early 90's and have been playing fantasy sports since then. I recall the first fantasy league I was ever in - a 4-team roto league back in '90 at SU and doing all the scoring/standings by hand and USA Today. Fast-forward to today. I'm in a couple other baseball leagues too, one of which is a keeper league that's been around for about 10 years now. It's very cool as we do 1/2 pot for Roto and 1/2 the pot for H2H. To toot my own horn I'm 4-time defending Roto champ and just won our World Series last year for the first time - so that was some nice cash although winning/retaining bragging rights is always more fun.
Last year was my first auction league ever, and as Commish Rob Drunken Tanuki can attest to, our league was unfortunately mismanaged and had many unclear rules. I loved the messageboard auction over an extended period of time. My team started out in the cellar and by mid-season I had worked my way all the way up in the standings, only to finish somewhere in 6th or 7th place out of 16. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this league. I'm a middle school teacher and don't have access to the board from 7am-3pm EST, so I'll most likely be communicating via email during the day and getting posts/bids in when I get home. Good luck all! -Scott
