I, for one, think that the time limit on bids should be 12 hours, if not more, for every day of the week. Other leagues I am in use a 24 hour limit, and it takes about 4 weeks.

I agree. I say just keep it the same to avoid confusion. 12 hours sounds good and I don't think it will prolong the draft that much longer. We have plenty of time

I also think 12 hours would be better at least for myself as I have been working weekends for the past 5-6 weeks and don't know when it will end and I am out of house for at least 10 hours when I work with no access.

12 hours, regardless of the day of the week, is good. So it's not a shorter period of time on weekends, right? For example, Shankbones bid $18 on Sam Horn at 12:03am (just after midnight EST here in Massachusetts) on a Friday night/Saturday morning, if there are no other bids, he is sold to us at 12:03pm (just after noon) on Saturday afternoon, correct? This, I presume, means we're doing away with the 8 hour rule on weekends.

I would also support 12 hours for all days as well. I would actually favor even more time for the entire month of February (say 18 hrs.) since I know for a fact there will be one day (not telling anybody when) I will off-line for a good 20 hours.
We could always tweak the time limits in March if things are dragging. Some tips to speed things along also include owners voluntarily bidding in increments of more than $1 over the previous bid in the early stages of a player being proposed and you could open with a bid of more than $1. For example, whoever brings up Albert Pujols or A Rod should probably start the bidding at $25 or $30.

I'd go for the consistent 12 hour approach, 24 hours between bids is too long. I've done that several times before, the auction drags and inevitably a few people lose interest. One of the league's selling points to me was the reduced time it takes for a bid to be the winning bid.

Please do not start the bidding for A-Rod or Pujols at $25-$30. Right now I have budgeted for them both at about $11 a piece. For me to end up with these two plus Hanley Ramirez, Jose Reyes, Ryan Howard, Johan Santana, and Chase Utley I don't plan on spending more than $50 total. Please help me stick to my "realistic" budget and keep hope alive that I will get all of these players.

I'm open to just about anything that will simplify the auction and make it go as steady as possible.

Since this proposal is to slow down the draft and not speed it up, it should not have any adverse effects on an owners ability to draft. Therefore since it has garnered support I will make the changes to have a flat 12 hour deadline for all players.
